NORWEGIAN ORANGE KILIM suunnittelijalta Danielle Puts

This ‘Norwegian orange kilim’ belongs to a colorful array of fusion-concepts, in which several different typical (ancient cultural related) themes, geometric pattern shapes, motifs, colors and used weaving and production techniques are combined, mixed or (literally) interwoven into a new and powerful contemporary intercultural motif. In this case the ‘Norwegian orange kilim’ is the handwoven end result of the cultural cross-fertilization between the typical Norwegian tradition of the ice crystal motif and the typical Oriental Kelim tradition of colorful geometric patterns. Because the ‘Norwegian orange kilim’ is both 'modern’ and ‘traditional', it is an extraordinary and unique carpet, that belongs in every distinctive interior.
Deze ‘Noorse oranje kelim’ behoort toe aan een kleurrijke reeks van fusion-concepten, waarbij diverse uiteenlopende typische (eeuwenoude cultureel gebonden) thema’s, geometrische patroonvormen, motieven, kleuren en gebruikte weef- en productietechnieken met elkaar zijn gecombineerd, gemengd of (letterlijk) verweven tot een nieuw en krachtig hedendaags intercultureel motief. In dit geval is de ‘Noorse oranje Kelim’ het handgeweven eindresultaat van de culturele kruisbestuiving tussen de typische Noorse traditie van het ijskristal-motief en de typische oosterse Kelim traditie van kleurrijke geometrische patronen. Omdat de ‘Noorse oranje Kelim’ zowel ‘modern’ als ‘traditioneel’ is, is het een buitengewoon en uniek tapijt, dat thuis hoort in elk uitgesproken interieur.

Serge Coumans (1973) is een Nederlandse architect uit Eindhoven. Hij studeerde product design aan de Kunstacademie in Den Haag en architectuur aan de TU in Eindhoven. Na een enige jaren als assistent van een aantal toonaangevende architecten en kunstenaars is hij op dit moment zelfstandige en houdt hij zich bezig met maatschappelijk vastgoed (renovatie en herbestemming van afgedankte gebouwen) als ook met kleinschalige culturele (historische) en religieuze projecten.
